IRA Charitable Rollovers

Written by Florida Baptist Foundation | Jul 7, 2022 11:20:45 PM

Benefits of an IRA charitable rollover

  • Avoid taxes on transfers of up to $100,000 from your IRA to our organization
  • Make a gift that is not subject to the deduction limits on charitable gifts
  • Help further the work and mission of our organization

How an IRA charitable rollover gift works

  1. If you are 70 1/2 or older, you make a gift from your IRA to the Florida Baptist Foundation or your church.
  2. After $100,000 for a individual or $200,000 as a married couple your IRA funds will be directly transferred to the charitable organization to help continue our important work.
  3. Your gift can satisfy your IRA's required minimum distribution (RMD), while possibly lowering your adjusted gross income (AGI) for tax purposes.
  4. Please note that IRA charitable rollover gifts do not qualify for a charitable deduction.
  5. Please contact us if you wish for your gift to be used for a specific purpose.
